Our Story
Spark Private is a new division launched by its fintech platform parent, Spark Crowdfunding. Spark Crowdfunding entered the early-stage company financing market in 2018 and has successfully raised investment capital for more than 50 companies. This funding is not only crucial for start-up companies to grow, but has also introduced private investments to individual retail investors for the very first time. Furthermore, these private investors can often invest alongside professional institutional investors on the same financial terms for shares/equity in exciting growth businesses. Spark has now built an investor database of more than 14,000 individuals who were introduced to a record 15 investment deals in 2024.
This level of deal growth has been accompanied by larger deal sizes and a wider variety of deal types. In the last 12 months Spark has brought additional exclusive off-platform private deals to a select number of investors. These deals have included more mature profit-making companies and participation in a buy-out of a healthcare business. The launch of the Spark Private service is a natural next step on the back of these growth developments and regulatory authorisation received from the Central Bank of Ireland in 2023.
